4 He answered, Have you not read, that at the beginning, when the Creator made man, he formed a male and a female,5 «and said,'For this cause a man shall leave father and mother, and adhere to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.'»6 Wherefore they are no longer two, but one flesh.
