In the past God spoke to our fathers by the prophets at many times and in various ways,
but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the world.
He is the radiance of his glory and the exact representation of his being, and upholds all things by the word of his power. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.
For to which of the angels did God ever say, »You are my son,today I have begotten you«? And again, »I will be a father to himand he shall be a son to me«?
And again, when God brings the first-born into the world, he says, »Let all God's angels worship him.«
Of the angels he says, »Who makes his angels winds,and his servants flames of fire.«
But of the Son he says, »Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever,and the righteous scepteris the scepter of your kingdom.
You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;therefore God, your God,has anointed you with the oil of gladnessabove your companions.«
And, »You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,and the heavens are the work of your hands;
they will perish, but you remain;they will all grow old like a garment,
you will roll them up like a mantle;and like a garment they will be changed.But you remain the same,and your years will never end.«
But to which of the angels has he ever said, »Sit at my right hand,until I make your enemies a stool for your feet«?
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to serve for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
